# Getting started with Semji

> Everything you need to go from a brand-new account to your first optimized draft, in nine steps.

### At a glance

* **What you can do**: set up your account and workspace, connect your data sources, and go from zero to your first optimized, published draft
* **Who it's for**: anyone new to Semji - content managers, SEO leads, and any teammate about to start working in the platform
* **Why it matters**: each step below links to the full guide for that topic, so you can move through onboarding at your own pace without hunting for the right article

### What changes for you

**Before:** getting productive in a new tool usually means piecing together scattered documentation, guessing which setting matters, and discovering half the features weeks in.

**Now:** this page is the one place that walks you through every step in order - account, data sources, AI setup, and your first piece of content - each with a short explanation and a link to go deeper.

### What you'll get

By the end of these nine steps, your workspace will be fully configured (users, data sources, Brand Voice, Knowledge Base), and you'll have imported your existing pages, integrated your editorial planning, and published your first content optimized with Semji.

### How to use it (step by step)

#### 1) Create your account and set up your workspace

Once you've received your invite, sign up with your work email and password (or [your Google account](/en/connect-your-tools/how-can-i-connect-to-semji-with-my-google-account)), then enter the URL of the site you'll be working on - this can't be changed afterward, so double-check it. From there, [invite your teammates](/en/admin-and-settings/manage-semji-users) and, if you manage more than one site, [add the workspaces](/en/admin-and-settings/why-and-how-to-add-or-remove-a-workspace) you need.

#### 2) Connect Search Console and your analytics tools

[Connect Google Search Console](/en/connect-your-tools/why-and-how-to-connect-my-data-sources-to-semji) so Semji can pull in your existing performance data, then [connect your analytics tool](/en/connect-your-tools/how-to-connect-my-google-analytics) (Google Analytics or another supported connector) to track traffic and conversions alongside your content.

#### 3) Create your Brand Voice

[Configure your Brand Voice](/en/work-faster-with-ai/how-to-use-semjis-ai-brand-voice) so every AI generation - drafts, rewrites, agent output - sounds like your brand instead of a generic assistant.

#### 4) Feed your Knowledge Base

[Set up your AI Knowledge Base](/en/work-faster-with-ai/ai-knowledge-base-create-a-knowledge-base) with the documents, product information, and guidelines your AI should draw on, then see [everything the Knowledge Base can do](/en/work-faster-with-ai/know-everything-on-ai-knowledge-base-create-more-relevant-optimized-and-faster-content) once it's populated.

#### 5) Explore and analyze your pages

[Explore the Pages tab](/en/identify-opportunities/everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-pages-tab) to see every page Semji tracks, or [import a URL directly](/en/identify-opportunities/how-to-import-a-url-in-semji) if a page isn't showing up yet.

#### 6) Bring in your existing editorial planning

[Bulk-import your backlog](/en/plan-your-content/bulk-import-in-the-planning) into the Planning tab instead of recreating it by hand, then [get oriented in the Planning view](/en/plan-your-content/all-you-need-to-know-about-the-planning-tab) to organize what comes next.

#### 7) Identify pages worth reworking

Use [existing-content optimization](/en/identify-opportunities/how-to-optimize-an-existing-content-updated-content) to find pages with the most gain potential, and check the [cannibalization alert](/en/identify-opportunities/semji-cannibalization-warning) to catch pages competing against each other before it costs you rankings.

#### 8) Launch a content idea

[Explore the Content Ideas tab](/en/identify-opportunities/all-you-need-to-know-about-the-content-ideas-tab) to discover new topics and keywords, then [identify high-potential themes](/en/identify-opportunities/identifying-promising-topics-with-content-ideas) to prioritize what to write next.

#### 9) Create and optimize your first draft

[Create a new content](/en/create-optimize-and-publish/how-to-create-a-new-content-with-semji) and get familiar with [the Semji editor](/en/create-optimize-and-publish/semjis-draft-and-editor), then use [the Content Score](/en/create-optimize-and-publish/all-about-content-score) to guide your optimization before publishing.

### Tips for best results

Go through the steps in order the first time - each one builds on the last, from workspace setup to your first published draft. Once you're comfortable, come back to this page any time as a map of where everything lives.

> **Good to know ℹ️**: you don't have to complete every step alone. [Invite your teammates](/en/admin-and-settings/manage-semji-users) early so setup and content production can move in parallel.

### Go further

Once your first draft is published, head to [Track and analyze your performance](/en/analyze-performance/overview) to see the impact of your work, or explore [AI+ Agents](/en/ai-agents/overview) to start automating parts of this workflow.
