AI+ Agent: Improve the editorial quality of your content using analysis of the Google Top 3

Get prioritized editorial recommendations based on the analysis of your competitors

At a glance

  • What you will do: Create an AI agent that automatically analyzes the top 3 Google results and generates prioritized editorial recommendations
  • Time required: 5 minutes (setup) + 2-3 minutes (execution)
  • Ideal for: Content Managers, SEO writers, editorial managers

What it's for

Producing content that ranks in the Google TOP 10 requires understanding what your competitors are doing and doing better. However, manually analyzing competitor pages takes time: reading each piece of content, comparing structures, identifying missing topics, evaluating information depth…

By creating a custom Agent dedicated to analyzing the TOP 3, you automate this task. In just a few minutes, the agent compares your content to the 3 best results in the SERP and delivers concrete recommendations, ranked by priority, with rewriting suggestions ready to apply.

Tip 💡: Launch this agent before writing new content (to guide your strategy) or when updating existing content (to identify gaps that have appeared since the last optimization).

What you will get

The agent produces a structured analysis report including:

  • Prioritized recommendations: each improvement is ranked by importance level (MAXIMUM PRIORITY, HIGH, MEDIUM)
  • Before/after examples: concrete rewriting suggestions for each identified point
  • An analysis of the introduction: evaluation of the hook and suggestions for improvement
  • An audit of the Hn structure: comparison of your outline (H1–H6) with those of competitors

Before getting started

Make sure that:

  • You have access to the Custom Agent feature in your Semji workspace
  • You have a draft with content to analyze
  • You have set a primary keyword (the SERP analysis must be launched)

Good to know ℹ️: The agent automatically excludes government and Wikipedia URLs to focus on truly relevant editorial competitors. If those URLs dominate the SERP, the agent selects other results.

How to do it

1) Create the custom agent

  1. In the Semji editor, click on "Agents" in the right sidebar
  2. Click on "Custom agent"
  3. Click "Create" to set up a new agent

2) Name and describe the agent

  • Name: TOP3 SEO Editorial Assistant
  • Description: Analyze the SEO TOP 3 to improve the editorial quality of the content

3) Insert the prompt

Copy and paste the following prompt into the "Instructions" field:

## 🎯 Role
Act as a senior content strategist, expert in competitive content analysis and UX optimization.

## 🧭 Objective
Conduct a comprehensive editorial analysis of my content against the top 3 pages ranking on Google (Gouvernement and Wikipedia URLs—choose other URLs if needed) for my target keyword, precisely identifying:
- competitors' strengths in terms of content compared with my content, and concrete, actionable opportunities for improvement.

## Steps to follow
- Launch the Google search
- Analyze the content of each URL
- Identify the weaknesses in my content
- List recommendations in order of priority to make the content higher quality

##🧩 Analysis framework
Compare my content with the top 3 SERP results along two main axes:

Content quality
- Depth and richness of information
- Relevance of the advice`

User experience (UX)
- Readability
- Structure
- Alignment with user search intent based on your analysis of the Google SERP

The analysis must focus exclusively on the text (not on code, backlinks, or technical performance) and should be grounded in what competitors have done.
In addition to analyzing the full content, also include a focus on the introduction and the Hn outline (H1–H6).

## Expected output format for the recommendations

Recommendations prioritized by order of importance, with a short introductory sentence explaining why, and proposed before/after text where relevant.

Example format:

## Recommendation #1 — MAXIMUM PRIORITY

**Goal:** Strengthen EXPERTISE by adding precise, sourced data + [Marque]'s authority positioning

(before/after text)`

---

Instruction: Carefully follow all the steps before finishing.

Attention ⚠️: Replace [Marque] with your brand name in the prompt. This allows the agent to formulate recommendations that position your brand's expertise.

4) Select the tools

Activate the following 3 tools so the agent can carry out its analysis:

Tool Function
Search on Google Run a search on your keyword and identify the TOP 3
Obtain the content of a web page Retrieve the textual content of competing pages
Retrieve SEO recommendations
Access the Semji analysis data for your content

5) Save the agent

Click "Create" to save your agent. It is now available in your list of agents and accessible to your entire team.

Use the agent daily

Once the agent has been created:

  1. Open a draft in the Semji editor
  2. Click "Agents" in the sidebar
  3. Select "TOP3 SEO Editorial Assistant"
  4. The agent launches automatically

The analysis usually takes 1 to 2 minutes. The agent performs the following actions:
